Kate Todd is a Canadian actress best known for her role Lily Randall on the TV series Radio Free Roscoe and for her role Erica on the TV series My Babysitter's a Vampire.  Kate is also a spokesperson, writer, musician and aspiring singer/songwriter.


Kate was born and raised in a rural community north of Toronto, Ontario Canada, Kate was recognized for her musical skills and leadership ability at an early age and graduated from public school the recipient of many academic awards. During her final year she was chosen to represent her town as student mayor. Kate studied piano and her love of music and performing live come from her many appearances at church hall recitals. She also joined a local theatre company and enjoyed the experience of filming an independent film while there.


In high school Kate enrolled in an international cultural exchange program and spent a summer living in Madrid, Spain. Upon her return Kate did some modelling before deciding to further pursue acting. At age fourteen and having had solid musical training Kate landed the coveted role of Lily Randall, singer/songwriter Shady Lane on The N/Family Channel’s award-winning television series Radio Free Roscoe. Four seasons were produced, with the show receiving the Best Teen Show award and the Parent’s Choice award at the New York World’s Festival in 2003, and a Gemini award in 2005. The show continues to air in Canada and the US, as well as in many countries throughout the world.


Since her first starring role Kate’s career has spanned from portraying principal characters in many television series including that of Sally on the popular Disney/Family Channel series Life With Derek: Degrassi the Next Generation; appeared in the Lifetime Network Movie Of the Week More Sex and The Single Mom and the CBC movie Bookie Makes Her Mark, which closed the Sprockets Children’s Film Festival to rave reviews. In this 1930’s period piece, Kate appears alongside Megan Follows of Anne of Green Gables fame. She can also be heard in her first ever voiceover animation role as Heidi Montag in the hit television series Family Guy episode We Love You Conrad.


Feature film work for Kate includes having had the privilege of working with award-winning director Bruce MacDonald (Highway 61, Road Kill, Hard Core Logo); appearing with Oscar-nominated actress Ellen Page (Juno) in the feature film The Tracy Fragments; and working alongside Hollywood heavyweights Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction, Mission Impossible) and Dean McDermitt, while playing her role of Sherri in the dramatic feature Saving God. Kate recently teamed up again with Bruce MacDonald in the television movie spoof My Babysitter’s a Vampire and will continue her role as Erica in the upcoming series of the same name.  She can also be seen next season as Jane in an episode of CanWest Global’s runaway hit TV series Rookie Blue.


Kate has enjoyed many guest appearances on television, including Real Access alongside Brittany Spears, Jessica Simpson and Hillary Duff, The Vicki Gabereau Show, E-Talk Daily and segments on Star TV, Breakfast Television, MTV Canada, Much Music, M3 and Sun TV. She has been interviewed by most major newspapers throughout North America, appeared in TV Guide and been featured in fan magazines and popular Internet fanzines.  She has also been a feature columnist for The Magazine where she wrote a music column called Sound Check.


 Kate was honoured when asked by Proctor & Gamble to act as a spokesperson to assist in launching their Being Girl web campaign. During this time while still in high school Kate took it upon herself to visit area schools and address students and young people on the issue of bullying and went on to lend her support when The Family Channel began their anti bullying television campaign.  Graduating from high school, Kate’s scholastic ability earned her the prestigious distinction as an Ontario Scholar designate. She is currently enrolled in university in Toronto, Canada and was recently honoured to have been invited to become a member of The Golden Key International Honour Society for her academic standing.


 Kate continues to act while alternatively working on and remaining focused on her love of music. The two media have continually intertwined throughout her career.  Currently studying guitar at the university level, Kate has had her music licensed to the Disney Channel as well as the Showcase Network. She has performed her solo material on Internet TV, College radio, in concert halls and cafes and is proud to have had the privilege to share the stage with Nelly Furtado, The Barenaked Ladies and Great Big Sea. Kate recently participated in Busking for CHANGE, an annual fundraising event in support of Warchild Canada to raise awareness and monies for children affected by the ravages of War.


Kate continues to enjoy her passion for performing her music live in concert and is currently showcasing a collection of new material she soon hopes to release as an EP. Her acoustic performances offer Kate’s soulful vocals, accompanied by her acoustic guitar and a collection of uplifting, inspirational songs that deliver an authentic introspective of song and celebration.
