90210 is a teen drama series created by Rob Thomas, Jeff Judah and Gabe Sachs.  90210 is the fourth series in the Beverly Hill franchise.  The show revolves around Anna and her family the Wilson as they move to Beverly Hill and have to adjust to a new life. 

 

Several former cast members from other series in the Beverly Hill franchise have made guest appearances including Jennie Garth, Shannen Doherty, Tori Spelling and Joe Tata.

 

Plot

Harry Wilson (played by Rob Estes) moves back into his old neighbourhood in Beverly Hills to look after his mother and to work as the school principal at West Beverly Hills.

 

His wife Debbie Wilson (played by Lori Loughlin) and there two children Annie Wilson (played by Shenae Grimes) and her adopted brother Dixon Wilson (played Tristan Wilds) move with him to start a fresh life. 

 

Anna is hopeful of meeting Ethan Ward (played by Dustin Milligan) she had a previous romantic interest with him but she realize he has a girlfriend Naomi Clarke (played by Anna Lynne McCord) and he has been cheated on her. 

 

Navid Shirazi (played by Michael Steger) a fellow Beverly Hill student has romantic feeling for Adrianna Duncan (played by Jessica Lowndes).  Adrianna is an aspiring singing actress who provides for herself and her mother and secretly does drugs to cope with pressure. 

 

Reception

The show had mixed review when the show first aired some critics like the show but felt liked the character had to be expanded while other critics felt the show was a rip off teen drama with nothing original. 

 

Viewers for the premiere of the show were extremely high but later averaged out as the series progressed.  The series has aired for two seasons and has been renewed for a third season. 

 

The show won Young Hollywood Awards for Young Hollywood Sparkling Performance.  The award went to Jessica Stroup who portrayers Erin Silver.

 

Trivia

Jessica Stroup auditioned for the role of Annie Wilson but was offered the role of Erin Silver.  The producer offered the role of Anne Wilson to Hilary Duff but she turned it down.
